Former research projects

 

The projects in IWE 1 up to the year 2018 are described here.

Professor Wilfried Mokwa's research group focused microsystems for implantation in human tissue. The research projects included retina implants for sending optical stimuli to the optic nerve, pressure sensors for measuring the portal vein pressure or implantable glucose sensors for diabetes patients.

Professor Uwe Schnakenberg research group developed microsystems for sensors and actuators for small amounts of liquid. The projects included lab-on-chip systems for the diagnosis of tumor markers using electrical impedance spectroscopy and surface acustic wave sensors as well as actuators for the mechanobiological investigation of cell functions and differentiation.
