Gruppenleiter: apl Prof. Dr. Ing. Uwe Schnakenberg

apl. Prof. Dr. Ing. Schnakenberg received Diplom-Physik degree from RWTH Aachen University, Germany, in 1986. He joined Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology in Berlin, Germany, working in the field of innovative microsystem technologies and microsystems. He received the Dr.-Ing. degree from the Technical University Berlin, Germany in 1994. In 1996, he returned back to RWTH Aachen University working as research director at the Institute for Materials in Electrical Engineering 1 (IWE1) responsible for the development of microsystems and microfluidic systems for life science applications. In 2003, he received the EUROSENSORS XVII Fellow Award for contributions in sensor technologies. In 2008, he was chair of MicroMechanics Europe Workshop MME 2008. He is and was member of the program committee of EUROSENSORS, TRANSDUCERS and IEEE Sensors conferences. Since 2015 he is adjunct professor at RWTH Aachen University. His current interest is in development of microfluidic systems with integrated microelectrodes for sensing and actuation applications. He is author or co-author in more than 100 peer-reviewed papers (ORCID: 0000-0002-2251-0605).
