Academic Career

Dr. Vivek Pachauri studied Chemistry and Biological Sciences (2000-2005) in Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University in Agra, in India. In 2005, he received a student research fellowship from the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Center for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore, in the field of Chemistry. He began his formal research career at the Govt. of India, Department of Science and Technology Unit on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (UNANST-DST) situated in the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras). In 2006, he joined the Department of Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) on a research fellowship and worked on sol-gel chemistry routes for synthesis of chalcogens. Thereafter, in 2007, he moved to Germany for his doctoral work and joined the Department of Nanoscale Science at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research (MPI-FKF) Stuttgart under the guidance of Professor Klaus Kern.
