Prof. Dr. Uwe Schnakenberg
Apl. Prof. Dr. Ing. Uwe Schnakenberg received his Diplom-Physics degree from RWTH Aachen University, Germany, in 1986.
Afterward, he joined the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology in Berlin, Germany, working in the field of innovative microsystem technologies and microsystems.
In 1994, he received the Dr.-Ing. degree from the Technical University Berlin, Germany.
In 1996 he returned to RWTH Aachen University and is now Academic Director at the Institute for Materials in Electrical Engineering 1 (IWE1). His focus is on the development of microsystems and microfluidic systems for life science applications.
In 2003, he received the EUROSENSORS XVII Fellowship Award for his major contributions in sensor technologies.
In 2008, he was chair of the MicroMechanics Europe Workshop MME 2008.
In the year 2015, he received an adjunct professor title in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology of RWTH Aachen University.
